For those of us who've kept the faith there's nothing that will match it. For everyone else, yes speedway is still about. In the 30's and 40's crowds matched football and most towns had a team. Now its a minority sport but as exciting as ever. Take away Lewis Hamilton's car put him on a 500cc bike with no brakes on a 360m track with 4 other guys over 4 laps and we'll see how brave he is. These guys risk life and limb for 8 months of the year and 5 live don't even give the results out! One thing speedway fans love is a bit of banter there's none of the tribal rubbish that ruins football we're all fanatical but we're also the first ones up to the bar to buy you a drink, so lets have a natter about the greatest sport on earth!
